Young Ambassador Recognised as Young Star

At Edward’s Trust, we are very proud of our Ambassadors, who do a fantastic job of promoting the work we do. Now one of our Young Ambassadors has been recognised by the Harry’s Young Stars Awards. The Awards, were founded by Georgina Moseley with the support of the Birmingham Mail, to honour other brave and inspirational children, like her son Harry Moseley.
Prab Collects her Award
Prabjoat Layal, one of our five Young Ambassadors, won the Community Charity Individual Award, which was presented in a ceremony at South and City College in Birmingham on Friday 28th Februay 2014. Prab, who is 16, impressed the judges with her commitment to fundraising for Edward’s Trust and raising awareness of the impact bereavement can have on children.

Prab raised £3,000 for Edward’s Trust by winning her school’s Youth Philanthropy Project in 2013, by speaking about her own experience of losing her father aged 10, and of how Edward’s Trust had helped her to deal with the loss. Since then, she has continued to seek out ways of fundraising, suggesting new ideas at school and keenly advocating the charity to others. She also regularly gives up her time to help out with events that rely on our hardworking volunteers, and has been very dedicated to her commitments as a Young Ambassador.

Prab has worked so hard at gaining support and recognition for Edward’s Trust that we couldn’t be more happy to see her recognised for her own outstanding dedication.
