History of Our Tea Parties

cupcakes6From 1991 to 2008, Edward House provided a place for families to stay near the Children’s Hospital, to make visiting their child in hospital possible when it may otherwise have been difficult.
Each day, the parents staying would have the option to meet for tea and cakes, giving them chance to meet other parents in the same situation. Parents enjoyed meeting people who understood what they were feeling, and having some time with other adults while they were away from home. This inspired our Tea Time Treats recipe book, which was sold at the time to raise funds.
Edward House has now closed, and Edward’s Trust focuses on counselling and support, we hope to remember this important part of our history by holding tea parties that will keep the spirit of Edward House alive.
